A Message of Appreciation from the Tully & District Show Society

Welcome to Tully’s 79th Annual Show.

A big Thank you to all.

79th show ? it keeps going because of dedicated community minded people volunteering their time, so that we have the biggest annual show in the district.

Each year there are more guidelines to abide by. Most of us in the show committee are everyday people and we are asking more people to come forward and bring your time, talents, and skills. Tully & District Show is just what it means. Everybody in the CCRC should be involved.

I want you to think about the Machinery Section. Our show is known for the best Agricultural display ? that’s huge. I would like to thank all of the businesses who setup and pulldown for this weekend.

To all the Banana Farmers who make the Stan Mackay Pavilion come alive on Thursday night with the weigh in. It’s the best atmosphere and the display is admired by the locals and tourists, it’s truly where most photos are taken.

To the Cane Farmers who cut the cane and the Tully Sugar Mill who deliver and set it up.

To the Cattlemen and women who truck their cattle to the showgrounds ? the preparation must be enormous, but they create the atmosphere and that back to earth smell.

To the Riders and their horses ? Thank you for understanding the new rules this year. We are so grateful to have the riders parading their horses around the centre ring. It’s every girl’s dream to do this at some stage of their lives. To all the people who enter the Sections ? without you there are no displays so please keep your skills coming. It’s the only place to show everyday person skills on display and the crowds love to see it .

Our schools put in a huge effort making and displaying our local kid’s artwork and they love to see it up on the wall. It’s a great feeling for them.

All of these displays take months of preparation so thank you all for supporting your show.

See you at the show.
